De Brauwerij

A new flock of Dutch trainees start at De Brauwerij twice a year, in March and September. This one-of-a kind six-month training programme gives participants the opportunity to learn on the job with both theory and hands-on experience under the guidance of senior associate mentors.  During your time in De Brauwerij, you will have your own clients, mostly consisting of legal aid cases.

De Brauwerij trainees form strong, enduring friendships with their peer group and share a floor and social events with international recruits in The Brewery.  What's more, it's a great way to get acclimated to all things De Brauw and form a strong network within the firm, which will serve you well when you move on to a position in our Litigation or Corporate practice groups.

  • Letter of motivation (maximum one side of an A4) in Dutch
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Complete transcripts including high-school, bachelor's and master's results
  • Evaluation report(s) from all previous internships
  • Theses or papers written during master's programme

Initial selection by our hiring partner, Anja Mutsaers, will be based on the information provided.

Those who make it to the first round will receive an online Connector Ability test which can be taken at home a week before the one-on-one interviews with two De Brauw partners selected randomly and conducted on the Friday of that week. All candidates chosen for the second round will be notified in the afternoon on the day of the first interview.

Candidates in the second round will be asked to take the Watson Glaser test at home the following week. On the Friday of the second week, they will be invited for two final one-on-one interviews. A hiring decision will be made on that day and an offer extended to successful candidates.
